When my daughter was growing up (at too young of an age) she wanted to read books on my book shelves. Some were classics and certainly good literature but dealing with topics I wanted to protect her from. Her vocabulary was so advanced she could read the books but it worried me because of all the depressing subject matter. Certainly not appropriate for a child. I on the other hand still go to the children's books on her shelves although she's an adult now but I have kept all the children's books. I find it relaxing to read children's literature at my advancing years even though I don't have a child at home. Carver, ABC Wed. Is there still place for improvisation? I suppose that schoolbooks are different in various states as they represent the environment of the children and older students.
